Will Shelley come clean and, if so, how will Charlie react?

The age difference between Martin and Katy is abundantly clear as the pair discuss Martin’s new life insurance policy. He has recently changed the policy details to include not only his children, Sarah and David, but also Katy, who is now a beneficiary. The pair discuss their future and Katy expresses a wish to marry Martin, but ever the sensible one of the pairing, he quickly pours scorn on the idea saying they have enough on their plates at the moment; she’s young and has still got her A -levels and university to get through. He assures her they will be Mr and Mrs Platt one day, just not at the moment. He implores her to stay young and enjoy herself. Taking Martin’s advice Katy later meets up with her pals in the Rovers. As the booze flows the youngsters are having a bit a festive fun with a piece of mistletoe. They play a game of whodunit where one person closes their eyes and receives a kiss, the recipient then has to work out who it was. The game is in full flow when Warren places a lingering kiss on Katy’s lips. Martin enters the pub just in time to witness his girlfriend locking lips with Warren. How will Martin react to the sight of Katy playing a spot tonsil tennis with a much younger man?

The angry builder storms out to work before Shelley has the chance to make amends. He is gone all day but throws Shelley when he returns later in high spirits. He informs an apologetic Shelley that despite her lack of tact, he got the contract with Dev after all. He’s loving towards Shelley but its clear that his constant criticism and Jeckyll and Hyde behaviour are beginning to fill a normally confident Shelley with self-doubt.

Deeply hurt at even being considered as the guilty party, Angela isn’t yet ready to accept the olive branch being offered. In a bid to clear up the mystery, Danny and Hayley set about searching the factory from top to bottom hoping the cash has been innocently mislaid.
