Dev and Sunita finally consummate their relationship
Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) shows a shocked Sunita (Shobna Gulati) the state of his wrecked apartment. He asks Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) to clear it all up in return for cash whilst he takes Sunita out. Kirk and Tyrone are also taken aback when they see his home and presume he has been burgled. Dev tells Steve (Simon Gregson) that he is now with Sunita and this will be the real thing forever. Steve is pleased for his business partner, telling him she is "a far better catch than Maya". After a romantic evening at Sunita’s place, she asks him to stay and spend what could be their first and last night together before her hospital appointment.

As Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and Candice (Nikki Sanderson) continue their bickering in the salon, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) realises that she has no choice but to let Sarah go. Sarah is absolutely devastated that her own grandmother could sack her, and shouts at Martin (Sean Wilson) that she is finding it very hard to cope with life right now. Gail (Helen Worth) is outraged at her mother, and gives Audrey a piece of her mind in front of a packed Rovers Return.

And new kid on the block Warren Baldwin (Danny Young) wastes no time in trying to make a good impression on local crimper Candice. He asks her out but she tells him to "get stuffed." But will she have different ideas when she finds out he is a professional footballer?

Sunita’s hospital visit reveals a surprising prognosis

Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) tries to reassure a very nervous Sunita (Shobna Gulati) as she prepares to go to hospital for a medical procedure. She tells Dev that she can't understand why she is about to have a complicated operation, when she actually feels fantastic. The consultant explains to them there is a 2 to5% risk of serious complications, including the risk of having a stroke. In an emotionally charged moment, Dev asks Sunita to marry him. Will she say yes?

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, Gail (Helen Worth) is still furious at Audrey (Sue Nicholls) for sacking Sarah. She talks things through with Martin (Sean Wilson) and tells him how disgusted she is with her mother. Martin tries to make her see that Audrey loves Sarah (Tina O'Brien) but Gail won’t listen. After Audrey upsets Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) when she offers to pay her council tax bill, Gail overhears this and has another go at her mum. Will they ever reconcile?

And Candice (Nikki Sanderson) gets to know “Golden Balls” Warren Baldwin (Danny Young), but their liaison is cut short after Danny (Bradley Walsh) drags him away to tell the truth to Frankie (Debra Stevenson) about getting sacked from Brentford FC.

Sunita's operation leaves Dev in turmoil.

Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is desperate for news on Sunita’s (Shobna Gulati) operation. Steve (Simon Gregson) joins him as he waits nervously for news of her operation. Dev relives his spur of the moment proposal and is terrified that Sunita could die. Steve tries to reassure him that she will be fine but Dev is in turmoil, convinced that something has gone wrong. But when the doctor finally comes to see a frantic Dev and tell him Sunita’s operation was a success, he is jubilant and dashes to his beloved’s bedside.

And Warren’s (Danny Young) football lies cause problems for his love life. When Candice (Nikki Sanderson) discovers from a meddling Leanne (Jane Danson) that Warren has been dumped by Brentford, she is seething mad and goes to see him in the Rovers. There she tears a strip off him but Frankie (Debra Stevenson) is also mad at Leanne for meddling in “family” business. She vows to sort her out at a later date.

Ciaran (Keith Duffy) summons Tracy (Kate Ford) to the flat, where he tells her to sit down on the couch and close her eyes. She does what she is told and is delighted when he pours £50,000 in crisp notes around her head. Tracy is instantly turned on by this gesture and pulls her man towards her!

The prognosis is good for Sunita... and there is a surprise for Dev

Sunita (Shobna Gulati) is ready to leave hospital. Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) wants to try and talk about his spur of the moment proposal but she just wants to go home. She invites him round to the flat later “to talk”. Dev manages to convince himself that she plans to finish with him, but is in for a shock when she lets him through the door later that night. Dev’s heart soars when Sunita greets him in a beautiful sari, and her flat resembles a Bollywood film set. The mood is set for love and Sunita turns the tables on Dev by asking him to be her husband.

Troublesome Tracy (Kate Ford) plays a prank on Ciaran (Keith Duffy) by hiding his cash in Amy’s buggy. When he discovers the money is missing, he frantically searches his flat and leaves a message on her answer phone warning her to give it back. Tracy is unaware that Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) has given Amy to Roy (David Neilsen) to baby-sit her for the afternoon. Will Ciaran's money be lost forever thanks to Tracy’s trick?

And Jamie (Rupert Hill) asks Leanne (Jane Danson) if she is sure about taking a job at his nightclub, as the manager can be a bit “hands on”' Meanwhile Frankie (Debra Stevenson) warns a nonchalant Leanne that her card is marked after spilling the beans to Candice about Warren (Danny Young) getting the boot.

Friday 20 August 7.30 - 8pm ITV1.

Frankie hates the Battersbys but Jamie loves Leanne.

Leanne (Jane Danson) delights in letting it slip to Frankie (Debra Stevenson) that she will be working with her stepson. Frankie is not at all amused, but Danny (Bradley Walsh) isn't bothered either way. Leanne starts work behind the bar, but the sleazy manager asks her to try on her new uniform - in front of him! Jamie (Rupert Hill) leaps in to defend her honour and they both end up sacked. Leanne is furious at first that he has staked a claim to her but later on sees the funny side and they share a sexy kiss.

And newly engaged Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Sunita (Shobna Gulati) start to plan their future. Everyone in Weatherfield is thrilled to hear their happy news, and Sunita asks Dev to move in with her, until his flat wrecked by Maya (Sasha Behar) is cleaned up and redecorated.

Katy Harris (Lucy-Jo Hudson) has passed her exams, but her grades are too low to get into medical school. Martin (Sean Wilson) worries that Tommy (Tom Craig) will blame him for Katy's lame results but tries to reassure her that it’s best she just tells Tommy the truth. Katy confides in her mother (Kathryn Hunt) who tells her she must lie to her dad, because he would go crazy if he knew the truth. What will Katy do?
