Fred lets his feelings run away with him.

Fred (John Savident) is not a man to do things by halves and, emboldened by Penny's (Pauline Fleming) kiss the night before, he seizes the bull by the horns and asks her out to dinner. Ever cautious, Ashley (Steven Arnold) pleads with his dad to take it slowly for once, but over a romantic meal for two serial proposer Fred lets his feelings run away with him once more, and Penny is stunned when he pops the question.

Ashley and Claire (Julia Haworth), meanwhile, are taking things a little more slowly after their misunderstanding the previous evening. He takes his frustrations out on the girls, and when he catches Janice (Vicky Entwistle) sneaking off for a crafty fag he decides to ban smoking during work hours. This further annoys Janice, and when Nick’s back is turned she sneaks off to the storeroom for yet another surreptitious smoke. Unknowingly, Harry (Iain Rogerson) locks the storeroom door, leaving Janice trapped inside. Nor is this Janice’s only problem. Will a cigarette butt left smouldering cause further problems for the frantic machinist?

However, when Gail (Helen Worth) finds out her golden boy is about to fly the nest, she tries to talk him out of it by persuading him to leave ’no good’ Maria. Will Nick be manipulated by his overprotective mother?

Karen is suspicious of Steve and Tracy

Karen (Suranne Jones) is finding life back in Weatherfield increasingly difficult, with Liz (Beverly Callard) still making herself at home in the flat and Tracy (Kate Ford) flaunting the baby at every opportunity. Having no work, thanks to the fire, is also adding to her woes. So when she sees Tracy and Steve (Simon Gregson) having a chat in the street, she sees red and lets them both know what she will do to them if she catches them ‘getting cosy’ again.

Meanwhile, Tracy is struggling to make ends meet and grabs a lifeline from Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) when they ask her for an annulment. But even missing one week’s payment to the Croppers won’t solve all her financial problems, and Blanche (Maggie Jones) suggests it’s time to get Steve to face up to his responsibilities.

Gail (Helen Worth) is feeling low as Nick (Adam Rickitt) and Maria (Samia Ghadie) excitedly plan their future in the new flat. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) and David (Jack P Shepherd) do their best to try and cheer her up. But when she arrives home to find Nick and Maria leaving, she faces up to the fact that she has managed to lose another of her children.

Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Claire (Julia Haworth) are still finding it difficult to get time alone, and loved-up Fred manages to ruin another intimate moment. Will they ever get it together?

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Chris Parker, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Duncan Foster. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

MONDAY 15 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Tracy puts Steve in a dangerous position.

With Karen (Suranne Jones) safely out of the way at work, a determined Tracy (Kate Ford) calls round to Steve’s (Simon Gregson) flat. Once inside, she outlines her demands for money to help with the upkeep of baby Amy. She tells an indifferent Steve that if he pays £50 a week there will be no need to drag him through the courts in order to set up maintenance payments. The pair are about to strike a deal when Amy makes her presence felt by being sick over Tracy. Tracy hands Amy over to Steve while she attends to her messy blouse. With Steve left holding the baby and Tracy in a state of partial undress, the pair are caught in a tricky situation. What would Karen say if she found the pair together?

Elsewhere, it’s the opening night of ‘Rozi’s’ (Helen Flanagan) production of Grease. Her opening night nerves are not helped when the wannabe starlet wakes up to find a spot on her face. She complains of feeling unwell, and a concerned Sally (Sally Whittaker) suggests she stay off school. But Kevin (Michael Le Vell), frustrated with pandering to her every need, insists she attends. After being sick, Rosie is later sent home from school. Concerned Kevin worries about his daughter, but Sally’s worries are elsewhere. It’s opening night – will she allow a clearly unwell Rosie to miss the performance or take the attitude that the show must go on?

Meanwhile, in a role reversal that is not lost on the pair, it’s now Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) turn to attempt to persuade Nick (Adam Rickitt) to make peace with Gail (Helen Worth). Will her words fall on deaf ears?

Also, Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) are optimistic about Tracy (Kate Ford) allowing them access time to see Amy.

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Debbie Oates, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Tracey Rooney. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

MONDAY 15 MARCH 8:30 TO 9:00 PM ITV1

Will Steve do a deal with the enemy?

Incandescent with rage at finding Tracy (Kate Ford) and Amy in her flat, Karen (Suranne Jones) demands to know what’s been going on. Tracy explains that she was discussing paternity payments with Steve (Simon Gregson), but when Karen tears up Tracy’s form from the Child Support Agency, she makes it abundantly clear to her that she will be getting no support from the McDonalds. Later, when Steve confides in Liz (Beverley Callard) about recent events, she advises him that Amy is his daughter and that he must stand up to his responsibilities. Will Steve do the right thing by Amy, or will Karen’s vindictive streak one again rule the roost?

Meanwhile, Rosie (Helen Flanagan) is still feeling unwell, but she is persuaded by an insistent Sally (Sally Whittaker) that she must not let people down. With the pressure building and the opening curtain getting ever closer, a nervous Rosie runs off from the house, leaving Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Sally in anguish. As the search for the runaway begins, will they find her in time for the all-important curtain call?

Elsewhere, Sarah (Tina O’ Brien) attempts to build bridges with Gail (Helen Worth) when she invites her to attend her first scan at the maternity clinic. Audrey (Sue Nicholls) also has some words for Gail, advising her that she must stop interfering in her children’s lives – food for thought for Gail.

Also, Maria’s (Samia Ghadie) plans of stocking up her and Nick’s (Adam Rickitt) lovenest with glasses from the Rover’s are thwarted by an unimpressed Shelley (Sally Lindsay).

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by John Fay, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Tracey Rooney. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

WEDNESDAY 17 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Sarah’s scan brings joyful news.

Karen is starting to get more suspicious about Steve’s contact with Tracy and the baby. When Steve (Simon Greson) is genuinely vague about his plans for Friday, Karen becomes convinced that he is going to the christening, even though he says that he has no intention of doing so.

Later, in the Rovers, Ciaran (Keith Duffy) innocently lets slip to Karen that Tracy (Kate Ford) tried to sabotage her wedding day. Karen cannot believe that Steve did not tell her about twisted Tracy trying to cancel everything, and vows to teach her a lesson she will never forget. What kind of revenge has Karen got in mind?

Elsewhere in Weatherfield, Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Todd (Bruno Langley) go for a baby scan and are elated when the sonographer tells then that Sarah is probably carrying a baby boy. They tell a delighted Gail (Helen Worth) the good news and joke over possible names for their unborn son.

And it’s the morning after the night before and Rosie (Helen Flannagan) believes her performance in Grease was terrible but Showbiz Sally (Sally Whittaker) won’t have any of it. After trying to convince her daughter otherwise, she races to the Kabin to read Ken’s review in the paper and is horrified to see Rosie has been given a lukewarm review and mis-named as ‘Dozi Webster’. Livid Sally hunts Ken (William Roache) down and demands a written apology for her daughter’s embarrassment.

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Mark Wadlow, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Tracey Rooney. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

FRIDAY 19 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Amy’s christening becomes a baptism of fire.

Liz asks Steve to give her a lift to the church. Karen (Suranne Jones) still believes that he is going to the christening and when Eileen (Sue Cleaver) innocently lets it slip that Steve (Simon Gregson) has taken Liz (Beverley Callard) to the church, Karen thinks her worst fears have come true and dashes there to confront her husband. Karen storms in guns blazing, and demands to know where Steve is, but he is not there. Tracy (Kate Ford) brazenly orders Karen to leave, but this only adds fat to the fire. Karen grabs her by the hair and screams to the shocked congregation that Tracy tried to cancel her dream wedding. Steve arrives to try and placate things, but Karen is incandescent with rage and throws a mean right hook, knocking Tracy to the floor. Karen shouts at humiliated Tracy that if she pulls any more stunts like that again she will kill her.

Sally (Sally Whittaker) meanwhile is still mad with Ken (William Roache) over the duff review and typo in the local paper. But when she reads the rag for an apology she cannot believe that the retraction is also wrong – this time naming her daughter as Rosie ‘Wobster.’

In the Rovers Return, Charlie (Bill Ward) flirts with Shelley (Sally Linsday), who secretly laps up the attention. But later she gets a dressing down from Fred (John Savident) who warns her he is unhappy with her book keeping, standards of service and "constant pow-wows with the punters."

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Carmel Morgan, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Tracey Rooney. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

Karen has the mother of all rows with granny Liz

Ever since returning from honeymoon, Karen (Suranne Jones) has found living across the road from Steve's (Simon Gregson) baby and having to share her flat with her mother-in-law very tough going. Things take a turn for the worse tonight when she discovers that Liz (Beverly Callard) has been babysitting for Amy. Furious, she berates Liz and accuses her of befriending Tracy (Kate Ford) to drive a wedge between her and Steve. Liz stands her ground, and refuses to stop seeing her granddaughter, which results in Karen ordering her out of the flat. Liz looks to her son for support but, torn between the two women, Steve is reluctantly forced to side with his wife, leaving Liz with no option but to pack her bags.

Charlie (Bill Ward) is still trying to woo Shelley (Sally Lindsay), and whilst she is certainly interested in him, he knows he has some way to go before she succumbs to the Stubbs charm. He thinks he might have spotted a chink in her armour, however, when he realises that she is much more relaxed with him when Bev (Suzie Blake) isn't around.

Maya (Sasha Behar) is enjoying life as Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) fiancée, and whilst shop work might have been beneath her before she met Dev, taking over Todd's (Bruno Langley) shifts as the boss's wife is an altogether different prospect. Sunita (Shobna Gulati), however, is understandably not entirely comfortable with this new arrangement.

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by David Lane, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Tracey Rooney.

MONDAY 22 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Charlie and Jason work their charm on the ladies.

Working for Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward) might not be the most glamourous job in the world, but it keeps Jason (Ryan Thomas) off the streets and is teaching him a trade. Charlie however is keen for Jason to experience every side of the job, and when they turn up to carry out some work for the sexy Mrs Fanshaw (Alison King), Jason soon realises that there is more on offer than tea and biscuits. Convinced that Charlie is in luck, Jason is surprised and more than a little pleased to realise that it is him Mrs Fanshaw has got her eye on.

Meanwhile, having left Jason to the delights of Mrs Fanshaw, Charlie is determined to win Shelley (Sally Lindsay) round and heads back to the Rovers. He makes his intentions very obvious, which doesn't go unnoticed by Bev (Suzie Blake) and Fred (John Savident), who are less than impressed. Shelley is a little flustered by the attention and disappears to the living room for a breather – only to discover that Charlie has followed her. As he moves in for a kiss, Shelley finds herself responding, despite worrying that they could be discovered any second.

Liz (Beverly Callard) is furious at being thrown out by Karen (Suranne Jones). After saying goodbye to Amy and Tracy (Kate Ford), she arrives at the Rovers to bid farewell to Steve (Simon Gregson), making it very clear to Karen that this is not the last she has seen of her, and she will return to see her son and granddaughter.

Elsewhere Claire (Julia Haworth) and Ashley (Steven Arnold) decide that the only way they are going to get any privacy is to book into a hotel for the night. And Fred discovers that Penny (Pauline Fleming) has been helping Mike (Johnny Briggs).

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Ken Blakeson, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Kay Patrick.

MONDAY 22 MARCH 8:00 TO 8:30 PM ITV1

Shelley's flirtation with Charlie ends in disaster.

After almost being caught with Charlie (Bill Ward), Shelley (Sally Lindsay) is worried about how her mum will react to their liaison and once more plays hard to get. But Charlie is not a man to give in easily, and convinces Shelley to have a drink with him after hours. He's not too impressed, however, when Shelley reveals she has arranged a lock-in for all the regulars – it wasn't quite what he had in mind. And when Fred (John Savident) sees people leaving the pub well after closing time just as a police car drives past, he sees red and storms into the pub demanding an explanation as to why Shelley is risking his licence. His anger enrages humiliated Shelley, who lets Fred know in no uncertain terms what she thinks of him and tells him to find someone else for the job.

Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Claire (Julia Haworth) are enjoying their romantic break away from Weatherfield. And it looks as though they may finally get to consummate their relationship. But the nervous couple manage to work their way through the contents of the mini bar and the night doesn't turn out exactly how either of them had hoped.

Steve (Simon Gregson) is caught between a rock and a hard place as both Karen (Suranne Jones) and Tracy (Kate Ford) continue to pile on the pressure. Tracy is determined to make him pay his way, but he knows that if Karen ever found out his life wouldn't be worth living. With Liz (Beverly Callard) out of the way, Karen is determined to put everything behind them. But little does she know Steve is working out the finer details of his financial arrangement with the mother of his child.

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Joe Turner, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Kay Patrick.

WEDNESDAY 24 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Shelley is shocked when her plan backfires.

Still furious with Fred's (John Savident) reaction the previous evening, Shelley (Sally Lindsay) decides to take the day off to teach him a lesson. The staff are less than impressed with her behaviour, and Bev (Suzie Blake) is left to hold the fort. After cooling off, Shelley decides to go and have a chat with Fred, but it seems she may be too late as he has already given the manager's job to someone else.

Fred's day did not start well thanks to Shelley, and he is also confused by the fact that he saw Penny (Pauline Fleming)and Mike (Johnny Briggs) leaving the Rovers together the previous evening. He tackles Mike, and is pleased when his old friend insists there is nothing going on. Later, when Penny invites him to dinner, he is convinced that things are starting to go his way, and an acceptance to his proposal is not far away.

Cilla (Wendi Peters) returns home from her extended hen weekend to a delighted Les (Bruce Jones). She's not exactly overwhelmed to see him, but paints on a smile. Later, however, she is not too pleased to discover from a stirring Fiz (Jenni McAlpine) that Les has been seeing rather a lot of Janice (Vicky Entwistle) whilst she has been away. She storms round to Janice's flat and warns her off, but Janice is not the sort of woman to take threats lightly and the fists starts flying.

Ashley (Steven Arnold) and Claire (Julia Haworth) are subdued on their return from the hotel, and Claire confides in Maria (Samia Ghadie) that she is worried she has blown it this time.

Elsewhere, Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and Todd (Bruno Langley) argue after Todd refuses to change his plans to go out after work.

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by Peter Mills, produced by Tony Wood and directed by Kay Patrick.

FRIDAY 26 MARCH 7:30 TO 8:00 PM ITV1

Shelley makes a shocking discovery.

With Bev (Susie Blake) in charge at the Rovers, Shelley (Sally Lindsay) is demoted to barmaid and is struggling to cope with the shift in power. Bev is finding the situation tough too, and tries to persuade Fred (John Savident) to give Shelley her job back. But just as it looks as though Fred might be wavering, Shelley shocks everyone by resigning and asks Charlie (Bill Ward) to take her out for the evening. Charlie is pleased to have finally got her on her own, but when she says that she still feels guilty about seeing him after he dated her mum, Charlie lets slip about Bev and Ciaran (Keith Duffy). How will Shelley react to this bombshell?

Claire (Julia Haworth) is determined to make up for the disastrous night at the hotel, and when Maria (Samia Ghadie) suggests a makeover might be the answer she reluctantly agrees. Ashley (Steven Arnold) is stunned when a glam new Claire arrives at the house, but has she done the right thing?

Todd (Bruno Langley) ignores Sarah's (Tina O'Brien) pleas for him to spend the night in with her and keeps his 'date' with Karl (Chris Finch).
