Charlie makes a play for Liz
When Shelley (Sally Lindsay) goes out on a hen night Charlie (Bill Ward) takes the opportunity to go boozing with the boys, leaving a pleased Liz (Beverley Callard) in charge of the pub. But Charlie is toying with her and when he ends his lads night early and returns to help Liz clean up it’s clear he’s got more on his mind than dirty glasses. He turns on the charm and makes a pass at a shocked Liz. Will she be the next victim of Charlie’s affections?
Elsewhere Maria (Samia Ghadie) is feeling low after her recent disasters with men so when Tyrone (Alan Halsall) asks her out for a drink she accepts. Tyrone decides it’s time to take the plunge and tells Maria that he still loves her. How will Maria react? Sally (Sally Whittaker) is worried about Rosie’s (Helen Flannagan) future at Oakhill when her posh new friend isn’t as posh as Sally was expecting. Pippa’s (Ella Constantinidis) parents run a kebab shop and live in the flat above. It’s clear she’s ashamed of her family and Sally begins to worry that Rosie will end up resenting her in the same way. Is Sally’s dream for Rosie over? And Candice (Nikki Sanderson) is unhappy when Jason (Ryan Thomas) wants to spend a night out with the lads rather than with her. Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Sunita (Shobna Gulati) arrive back from holiday with the news that they’ve set a date for the Hindu wedding. But their mood soon changes when they hear Maya’s (Sasha Behar) been in the Rovers asking after them and they’re left wondering what she’s up to this time. Meanwhile Maya knows exactly what she’s up to when she leaves the pub telling Frankie (Debra Stephenson) she’s got a wedding of her own at which to show her face. But will anyone else figure it out? And Les (Bruce Jones) struggles with the green-eyed monster when a dolled-up Cilla (Wendi Peters) says she’s going out to bingo again with her friend, despite Les’s plans for a romantic meal. Meanwhile Karen’s (Suranne Jones) unhappy when Liz turns up on her doorstep just as she’s about to embark on some more baby-making “action” with Steve (Simon Gregson). But when Liz says she has nowhere else to go, Steve insists that his mum can stay. Joining Maya (Sasha Behar) for lunch, Frankie (Debra Stephenson) is only too happy to spill the beans on Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Sunita’s (Shobna Gulati) wedding plans. But when a customer asks Maya how married life is treating her, it looks like Maya’s cover could be blown. Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) helps a jealous Les (Bruce Jones) hatch a plan to catch out Cilla (Wendi Peters), whom he is convinced is cheating on him again. They follow her to bingo but Les is distracted by Cilla’s mate Yana (Jayne Tunnicliffe) and as he chats her up, Cilla spots him and smells a rat. Is his plan about to backfire? And Sophie (Brooke Vincent) causes ructions in the Webster household when she accuses Sally (Sally Whittaker) of only caring about Rosie (Helen Flannagan). Again she backs him in front of Liz (Beverley Callard) but when Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride), who has compared Liz’s story to Bev’s, hints that she’d be stupid to believe him twice, Shelley starts to wonder if she’s made a mistake. She confronts Charlie telling him she wants the truth. Will Charlie come clean? Meanwhile Steve (Simon Gregson) is fuming when Liz tells him that Shelley sacked her after Charlie made a pass at her. Angrily he threatens Charlie, telling him to watch his back, but smug Charlie looks unfazed. Elsewhere Les (Bruce Jones) is in the doghouse with Cilla (Wendi Peters) following his bungled attempt to find out if she’s cheating on him. But undeterred, he gets together with Patrick (Trevor Dwyer-Lynch) and hatches a second plan to test her faithfulness – by using Patrick to set a honeytrap! Eileen (Sue Cleaver) has a miserable birthday. After receiving only one card – from Todd, she’s pleasantly surprised when Jason (Ryan Thomas) hands her a present in the Rovers. But when Sean (Antony Cotton) asks if she liked his present, Eileen realises she’s been duped by her son again. And Karen (Suranne Jones) tells Steve (Simon Gregson) she wants Liz out of the flat by the weekend so they can continue with their baby-making plans. Liz agrees and when Shelley tells her it’s over with Charlie (Bill Ward), a fragile peace is restored between the two women. But Charlie refuses to give up, telling Shelley he can’t live without her. Will his lies draw her in again?
Les (Bruce Jones) puts his next plan into action, sowing the seeds by telling Cilla (Wendi Peters) how Patrick (Trevor Dwyer-Lynch) made a fortune on the oil rigs. It looks like Cilla is going to fall for the honeytrap as she arrives at the Rovers dolled up to the nines. But Cilla is onto their game and when she asks Patrick to take her home she’s got something of her own in store. And Ciaran (Keith Duffy) starts to worry when it’s another quiet night in McCarthys. Karen’s (Suranne Jones) had enough after a sleepless night with Amy (Rebecca Pike) and demands Steve (Simon Gregson) takes her back to her mother. But when Tracy (Kate Ford) refuses, Karen is left holding the baby and as she is forced to feed and change her, becomes surprised at how well she can cope. Shelley (Sally Lindsay) feels undermined when she discovers Fred (John Savident) has taken on a new barmaid, Violet Wilson (Jenny Platt), but agrees to give her a week’s trial. Meanwhile Charlie (Bill Ward) continues to play games with Shelley, making it known that he’s thinking of leaving for Dubai. It has the desired effect as Shelley goes to find him at the builders yard; will she let her heart or her head rule?
Cilla (Wendi Peters) has got Les (Bruce Jones) where she wants him following her exposé of his failed honeytrap. Desperate to get back in the good books, he promises her anything she wants, but when his gift of a gold chain turns out to be cheaper than it appears, it looks like Les is going to have to work a bit harder to get off the sofa. As Ciaran (Keith Duffy) wonders how long he can hang onto McCarthys, a buyer offers him £60,000 for the restaurant. It looks like an offer that’s too good to refuse but will Ciaran be prepared to walk away from his dream? And Jason’s (Ryan Thomas) smitten when he meets new barmaid Violet.
