Sunita’s (Shobna Gulati) shocked to see her father Suresh (Ash Varrez) outside the flat but pleased and hopeful of a reunion she invites him in. The atmosphere between them is awkward, and when Sunita tells him about her operation he realises how much of his daughter’s live he has missed. Suresh is genuinely upset and there’s a warm moment between the pair until Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) arrives and asks Suresh for Sunita’s hand in marriage. Will Suresh be willing to accept his daughter’s choice of husband-to-be?

Still brooding about the fact that Sarah (Tina O’Brien) won’t speak to him, Todd (Bruno Langley) asks Jason (Ryan Thomas) to have a word with her on his behalf. But when Sarah makes it clear she’ll never have anything to do with him again, Todd decides it’s time to take matters into his own hands and stops Sarah in the street. Will the pair be able to put the past behind them?

Leanne (Jane Danson) realises she may have gone too far with her claims of Dev’s sexual harassment when she finds a furious Les (Bruce Jones) writing his resignation speech for Streetcars. She admits to Janice (Vicky Entwistle) that it has all got out of hand, but with the tribunal fast approaching, will Leanne be able to back out of Maya’s (Sasha Behar) plans?

A lonely Tracy (Kate Ford) tries to make it up with Ciaran (Keith Duffy) when she realises she may have lost her only friend.

And the factory girls worry that Karen (Suranne Jones) is trying for a baby for the wrong reasons.

Sarah and Jason share an unexpected kiss

it’s Sarah and Jason who get passionate when a drink-fuelled kiss takes them both by surprise.

It’s Candice’s (Nikki Sanderson) 18th and the plans are taking shape for tonight’s joint birthday party with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and Katy (Lucy-Jo Hudson). Candice is thrilled when Audrey (Sue Nicholls) presents her with a pair of proper hairdressing scissors, while Fiz eagerly awaits her present from Kirk (Andy Whyment). Will he come up with anything better than an iron this year?

As the evening gets underway, everyone is in high spirits. Warren (Danny Young) makes a play for Sarah (Tina O’Brien), while Candice attempts to rekindle her romance with Jason (Ryan Thomas). But it’s Sarah and Jason who get passionate when a drink-fuelled kiss takes them both by surprise. It looks like Jason is taking his brother’s request to keep an eye on Sarah just a little too far.

Elsewhere Norris (Malcolm Hebden) and Rita (Barbara Knox) are impressed when they arrive at Rula’s (Honor Blackman) house and meet the other dinner guests. There’s just an air of bitchiness between the old rivals but the evening goes well and as they retire to their rooms Norris can’t help but notice Rula making eyes at him.

Back on the street Sally (Sally Whittaker) plays the proud mum as Rosie (Helen Flannagan) sets off for her first day at Oakhill, and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) urges Sunita (Shobna Gulati) to make peace with her parents.

Sarah and Jason’s passions spill over

As Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Jason’s (Ryan Thomas) clinch steps up a gear, the pair head back to the Grimshaws. They can’t keep their hands off each other and quickly move upstairs. One thing leads to another and as the couple bask in a post-coital glow they fall into a deep contented sleep, oblivious to the time bomb that it is now ticking as Todd (Bruno Langley), Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and Sean (Antony Cotton) head home.

Back at the party, Warren (Danny Young) continues to try his luck with Candice (Nikki Sanderson), and Maria (Samia Ghadie) reminisces with Tyrone (Alan Halsall). While it’s all smiles in the Rovers when Todd tells Eileen he’s planning to try for Oxford again.

Elsewhere at Rula’s (Honor Blackman) house Norris’s (Malcolm Hebden) curiosity gets the better of him when he hears noises on the landing and people running between rooms. He goes to investigate and when a scantily-clad Rula emerges from her room and drags Norris inside, it appears the party may not be all it seems.

And when Rosie (Helen Flanagan) tells Craig (Richard Fleeshman) and David (Jack P Shepherd) how awful her first day at Oakhill was, they hatch a plan to get her back to Weatherfield High, by telling her parents she is being bullied. Kevin’s (Michael LeVell) horrified and it looks like their scheme is having the desired affect when he vows to get Rosie out of Oakhill and back where she belongs.

It’s the morning after the party and as Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and Jason (Ryan Thomas) continue to sleep, Todd can’t believe his eyes when he walks into his brother’s room and finds them in bed together.

A fight soon breaks out

Devastated Todd throws Sarah onto the street and a fight quickly breaks out between the brothers. Eileen (Sue Cleaver) tries to break them up but as the fight escalates Todd explodes, saying he can no longer face life on the street. In a series of emotional scenes Eileen begs her son to reconsider. Is Todd about to leave Weatherfield?

Elsewhere it’s the day of the tribunal and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) is looking forward to rubbishing Leanne’s (Jane Danson) sexual harassment claims. Meanwhile Leanne tells Maya (Sasha Behar) she wants to back out of the proceedings but Maya’s not about to lose her chance of revenge and pushes Leanne into going ahead with the tribunal. Dev is stunned to discover that it’s Maya who is representing Leanne and although the chairman suggests they proceed with the case, concentrating on the matter in hand, it’s not long before the proceedings get personal.

Back on the street, Sally’s (Sally Whittaker) determined that Rosie (Helen Flannagan) will return to Oakhill despite her bullying claims. But for once Kevin’s (Michael LeVell) putting his foot down and tells an overjoyed Rosie that she can go back to Weatherfield High tomorrow. But that’s before her second day at Oakhill; will anything make her change her mind?

Norris (Malcolm Hebden) and Rita (Barbara Knox) remain tight-lipped about their early return from Rula’s (Honor Blackman).

And Tyrone (Alan Halsall) continues to hanker after Maria (Samia Ghadie).

Mad Maya steps up her hate campaign against Dev and Sunita

Undeterred by yesterday’s employment tribunal, Maya (Sasha Behar) puts the second part of her twisted plan into action. Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) storms round to Maya’s office to tell her that he will haul her into court if she tries to cause any more trouble for him or Sunita (Shobna Gulati). But spurned on by her rage at Dev’s harsh words she instigates the next wave of tribunal action and goes to the local register office to marry an illegal immigrant under Sunita Parekh’s name!

At the Grimshaws, Todd phones his worried mum to say he is safe in London and staying with a friend for the foreseeable future. Jason (Ryan Thomas) is hostile because he knows how angry his mum is with him and he snaps at Sean (Antony Cotton) who makes an innocent joke about the situation. At the taxi office, Steve (Simon Gregson) encourages Eileen (Sue Cleaver) to finish early and make things up with Jason. Eileen realises that she has only one son left in Weathefield and the only way she can salvage her relationship with Jason is to ask Sean to go. How will Sean react?

And when Charlie (Bill Ward) asks Shelley (Sally Lindsay) to put the finishing touches to his house, Shelley is secretly hoping that he is about to ask her to move in with him. But her hopes are dashed when he innocently announces that he has had a firm offer on his house and is confident the sale will go through soon. But will Shelley tell Charlie she wants to take their relationship a step further?
