Ray's funeral leads to Steve getting closer to Tracy

Steve (Simon Gregson) offers to mind Amy on the day of Ray Langton’s (Neville Buswell) funeral, but Tracy (Kate Ford) politely says she would rather not as she needs her daughter for company on the sad day. Some of the street’s residents go to the cemetery to say their farewells to Ray. It is a small and sombre affair, and as the guests leave, Tracy asks for a few minutes alone at his graveside. She cannot contain her grief any longer and the tears flow for the loss of her father. As she looks up she sees Steve walking towards her and there is a touching moment where he consoles her as she cries. Later on, Tracy pops round to Steve’s to say thank you for his support. Steve gently persuades her to stay for a drink and she puts Amy to sleep in the spare bed. They have a heart-to-heart – will one thing lead to another for the star-crossed couple?

Over at the Platts’, Craig (Richard Fleesman) is feeling a bit brighter having stayed with David (Jack P Shepherd) for the night. But when a tearful Martin (Sean Wilson) arrives with the unfortunate news that Katys’ condition has deteriorated, Craig is even more distraught.

And elsewhere, Candice (Nikki Sanderson) is plotting her pathway to fame and fortune. As Sean (Antony Cotton) arrives at the salon to prepare for a hot date he met on the internet, Candice practises her ‘unique’ interviewing technique on her baffled colleagues, and Sean gives as good at he gets with the ditsy hairdresser!

Episode 6,005

ITV1 Network Monday 18 April 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s the morning after the night before for Tracy and Steve

The episode begins with Tracy waking up in Steve’s arms, blissfully happy after their evening together. He

kisses her on the cheek and tentatively leaves for work, but when he arrives he gets a grilling from Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and mum Liz (Beverley Callard). And in a mirror image, at No.1 Coronation Street, Blanche (Maggie Jones) is disgusted that Tracy has stayed over at Steve’s again and shouts that he has taken complete advantage of her at her most vulnerable. Tracy tries to defend him but Blanche’s harsh words stick in her mind. She starts to believe that Steve will stand her up in the Rovers tonight because the night before meant nothing to him. Will Steve (Simon Gregson) go to the pub to seek out Tracy (Kate Ford), or will he write off their romantic liaison as a one-night stand?

In the police station, a drained Angela (Kathryn Hunt) pleads with DI Pinnock (Philip Martin Brown) to let her go and see her daughter. He tells her that a trip to the hospital is not so simple and that Katy’s (Lucy Jo Hudson) suicide letter doesn’t actually prove anything as she could be lying to protect her mother. Angela’s hopes are completely shattered. So even though she desperately tells the police about the possibility of Katy’s prints being on the infamous wrench, she breaks down and cries with the sheer enormity of recent events.

Meanwhile, at Gail's (Helen Worth), Craig (Richard Fleeshman) lashes out at Martin (Sean Wilson) when Martin reveales that Katy killed Tommy and Gail has to intervene.

Candice (Nikki Sanderson) still has her heart set on being a weather girl and is convinced she is set for stardom. The Baldwins settle down for the evening to watch ‘Candy’ practise her moves around a weather map. In hilarious scenes, she fails to get the hang of UK geography and leaves everybody in stitches of laughter, except proud boyfriend Warren (Danny Young)!

Episode 6,006

ITV1 Network Monday 25 April 8:30 PM to 9:00 PM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that Fred has decided to sell the Rovers, Charlie (Bill Ward) and Shelley (Sally Lindsay) are buzzing with plans to refurbish the pub. Violet (Jenny Platt) and Ciaran (Keith Duffy) are quite worried about keeping their jobs, but Shelley assures them they will be fine. But when Ciaran innocently suggests some style ideas, Charlie ridicules him and abruptly sends him away. But later on, Violet and Ciaran tentatively discuss just how big Charlie’s influence is becoming over Shelley.

Angela (Kathryn Hunt) is still languishing in her cell. Her solicitor comes to visit and tries to explain that getting permission from the prison governor to see Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) can take time. But Angela’s pleas are finally heard, and she is taken to visit her daughter. How will she react when she sees Katy so terribly poorly?

And in the Rovers, Kelly (Tupele Dorgu) tries her charms on Steve (Simon Gregson) again, but he is more interested in

listening into Tracy and Nathan’s (Ray Fearon) conversation nearby. Tracy (Kate Ford) catches on to this and exploits the fact that she and Nathan are getting on well by brazenly asking him to go on a weekend away with her and Amy. How will confused Steve react to Tracy’s mind games?

And in Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) garden, Fred (John Savident) samples the fruits of his labour. Will the ’pure’ water be crystal clear?

This episode of CORONATION STREET is written by John Stevenson, produced by Tony Wood, and directed by Dayle Evans-Kar. The executive producer is Carolyn Reynolds. It is a Granada Television production for ITV1.

Crisis as Coronation Streets Katy Harris dies

Craig (Richard Fleeshman) goes to visit his seriously ill sister Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) in hospital, and comes face to face with his mum for the first time since learning the real truth behind his father’s murder. He wants answers, and Angela (Kathryn Hunt) tries to console him gently, pleading with him to stay with Katy. Craig finds the courage inside him to enter the intensive care room. Katy looks terrible, wired up to the life support machine, but Craig attempts to talk to her. The poor boy begs his big sister to wake up but the life support machine alarm suddenly goes off. Bewildered and unable to speak, Craig, Martin (Sean Wilson) and Keith (Ian Redford) try to say their heartfelt goodbyes to Katy as she sadly passes away.

Back in the Rovers living room, Shelley (Sally Lindsay) and Charlie (Bill Ward) excitedly discuss their surveyor’s report on the pub. Shelley gushes to Charlie that she cannot wait to buy the pub with him, and that all her dreams are coming true.

Over in the salon, Candice (Nikki Sanderson) is singing her own praises to anyone who will listen about her weather girl rehearsal at the Baldwins’. Maria (Samia Ghadie) teases her, but Candice is convinced it’s just jealousy on her part. But attention is suddenly turned to Betty (Betty Driver) when Candice accidentally turns up the heat on Betty’s drier and burns her scalp! After a laborious day, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) has finally had enough of Candice’s constant boasting and skiving, so sacks her on the spot. What will Candice’s reaction be?

Fred tells Shelley that he’s not selling the Rovers

With the well proving to be little more than a smelly hole in the ground, Fred (John Savident) has to break the news to Shelley (Sally Lindsay) that he won't be selling the Rovers after all. Shelley is disappointed and, yet again, Charlie (Bill Ward) does his level best to make her feel even worse.

As Ken (William Roache) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) arrive back from honeymoon, Blanche (Maggie Jones) can hardly wait to fill them in on the gossip about Steve (Simon Gregson) and Tracy (Kate Ford). It’s Bingo! for Sean in his new job

Sean (Antony Cotton) can hardly wait for his debut at the bingo hall and with all his friends and colleagues to cheer him along, what could possibly go wrong? Sean proves himself to be a natural, but as Vera starts to lose out on the prize money to Fiz (Jenni Macalpine) and the gang, she smells a rat and complains - with surprising consequences!

Candice's (Nikki Sanderson) appearance in the Weatherfield Gazette has resulted in some rather dodgy fan mail.
