Martin gets it from all angles

Martin (Sean Wilson) is still struggling to come to terms with Katy’s (Lucy Jo Hudson) pregnancy and from his own experience with Sarah (Tina O’Brien) he really feels for Angela (Kathryn Hunt) and Tommy (Thomas Craig). David (Jack Shepard) is less than impressed when he learns about the pregnancy from Craig (Richard Fleeshman) and Martin feels guilty for not telling him sooner. He and Katy go round to the Platts’ to speak to David and Sarah themselves. Katy and Sarah sit down for a heart-to-heart but Sarah can’t quite bring herself to offer congratulations, despite Katy’s obvious worries.

Sally (Sally Whittaker) is nervous when Justine (Sophie James) comes into the garage, but this soon turns to intrigue as she sees Justine and Ian (Philip Bretherton) playing happy families. Her guilt is compounded at the thought she is breaking up an apparently happy marriage as well as risking her own. But when Rosie (Helen Flanagan) tells her that Gemma’s (Jodi Hamblet) mum thinks her dad is having an affair she is sure that they have been found out. Ian clearly doesn’t have the same trouble with his conscience and simply dismisses Sally’s fears by saying that Justine is still none the wiser about the affair. But how long will Sally’s conscience hold out?

Charlie (Bill Ward) has given Shelley (Sally Lindsay) a much appreciated day off from her diet and she is making the most of it. Eating junk food and chatting to Sunita (Shobna Gulati) in the shop, Shelley is defending Charlie’s behaviour towards Sunita. In doing so she lets slip about Charlie’s past, despite promising him that she would keep it to herself. Sunita isn’t convinced by Charlie’s latest sob story and is worried that Shelley can be so easily taken in.

Meanwhile, Sunita is shocked at Dev’s (Jimmi Harkishin) underhand tactics at gaining support for his WTA campaign, but a surprise late candidate gives him a run for his money.

Cilla sells Schmeichel

Cilla (Wendi Peters) is livid as she finds Schmeichel has chewed her favourite boots and in revenge she sells her son’s dog to her friend for £100. She then blatantly lies to Chesney (Sam Aston) and tells him that Schmeichel must have ran away. A frantic Chesney searches for his beloved dog along with the help of Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Les (Bruce Jones). Cilla tries to take everybody’s mind off the dog but how long will she be able to keep her secret?

Sally (Sally Whittaker) has a growing sense of guilt about her affair with Ian (Philip Bretherton), which is made worse by Justine (Sophie James) questioning the relationship she has with her boss. Sally is convinced that Justine knows about the affair but once again Ian reassures her that Justine is completely oblivious to what’s going on. He can see that the guilt of the affair is getting to Sally and offers to give her some time to get used to things. But Sally is well aware that the job and the affair come as a package so will she be prepared to give any of it up?

Tommy (Thomas Craig) is enjoying seeing Martin (Sean Wilson) suffer as David (Jack P Shepherd) refuses to speak to him. Tommy is pleased that somebody else shares his disgust at Martin and Katy’s relationship and is happy to see Martin unhappy. Martin manages to keep his cool with Tommy, even when he purposefully tries to cause a fight with him. At least Martin manages to salvage his relationship with daughter Sarah (Tina O’Brien) as they share an emotional moment at baby Billy’s grave.

Elsewhere, Charlie (Bill Ward) is unhappy about Ciaran (Keith Duffy) going to the gym with Shelley (Sally Lindsay) and Sarah celebrates her 18th birthday.
