Angela grows more paranoid as Katy crumbles

Angela (Kathryn Hunt) and Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) are beginning to feel the net closing in on them as the police decide that they don’t need to be put on the witness protection programme. Angela starts to think that the police must have a suspect in mind if they are prepared to rule out the Morgans completely. After accepting an invitation to dinner from Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Sally (Sally Whittaker) the pair are on edge and talk about nothing but Tommy’s (Thomas Craig) murder. Seeing how her daughter is beginning to crumble, Angela reassures her that she will present the police with incriminating evidence against the Morgans that will put them in the clear.

The Barlows day trip to Southport begins ominously as Ken (William Roache) decides to stay at home. Despite pleas from Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) to change his mind, he is adamant that he won’t jump on Ray’s (Neville Buswell) bandwagon. The others decide to go ahead without him and, managing to get there in one piece, they head to the promenade to get some sea air.

Tracy (Kate Ford) spends the day trying to be alone with Ray which proves to be difficult and, as the group move on to crazy golf, everyone becomes distracted by Norris’s nagging about the rules of the game. Eventually, Tracy manages to orchestrate a father daughter chat and Ray is quick to realise where the conversation is heading, but does he have the money that Tracy is hoping for?

The Platts are admiring their new goldfish, the latest obscure gift from Scooter (Sushil Chudasama). Not impressed with the new arrivals, David (Jack P Shepherd) decides to have some fun and feed them an Easter egg! Not content, he then plays a prank on the rest of the family by telling them that Bethany has eaten her new pets. There is an air of panic as Gail (Helen Worth) and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) frantically decide what they should do. How far will David go before he reveals his prank?

Elsewhere, Chesney (Sam Aston) manages to make himself sick on Easter eggs!

Ray is a real cuckoo in the Barlows' nest

Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) is struggling to cope with looking after sick Ray (Neville Buswell) and things go from bad to worse when he collapses and she is unable to help him up. An ambulance is called and it is clear to Tracy (Kate Ford), Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and Emily that he is getting weaker by the day. But when Ken (William Roache) returns home to find Ray settled on his sofa with his suitcase in the hallway he finds it hard to be as charitable as Tracy and Deirdre.

Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) is surprised when she finds Angela (Kathryn Hunt) getting ready for work, but it seems Angela has got plans to make up more than a few pairs of knickers at Underworld. Once everyone has left the factory she slips unnoticed into the office and fires up the computer to fulfil her promise to Katy to do something to get them off the hook. What plan has she up her sleeve now?

Tanned and happy, Charlie (Bill Ward) and Shelley (Sally Lindsay) return to Weatherfield, but Shelley is concerned about how she is going to deal with seeing Sunita (Shobna Gulati). Sunita thanks her for the postcard and it looks as though things are going to be ok for the two friends - but Charlie had no idea Shelley had even sent the card. How will he react?

Chesney (Sam Aston) is excited at the impending return of his mum and Les (Bruce Jones) but Roy (David Neilson) and Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) don't mind admitting that they are going to miss him when he's gone.

Hayley struggles to help distressed Angela

Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) is shocked at discovering Angela (Kathryn Hunt) writing the threatening letter to herself. Angela tries to explain why she has done it but however good the reason, Hayley is unsure about lying to the police and is in a real dilemma. However, when she realises just what a state Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) is in, Hayley finds herself agreeing to help Angela out by going to Sheffield to post the note.

Ken (William Roache) is furious about Ray (Neville Buswell) moving in without him being consulted. Ray tells Ken he will make alternative arrangements as soon as possible but Rita (Barbara Knox) persuades Ken that he ought to be a little more compassionate about Ray's situation - easily done if you're not the person having to sleep on the sofa.

Tracy (Kate Ford), meanwhile, sees a way to make a move on Steve (Simon Gregson) by telling him how overcrowded it is at home. Knowing he will be concerned about Amy, she is thrilled when he offers a solution. But it's not quite what she had hoped for!

Hayley (Julie Hesmonhalgh) and Roy (David Neilson) are concerned that Cilla (Wendi Peters) seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Chesney (Sam Aston) is not concerned as his mum has form for this, and he is enjoying staying with the Croppers. However, things don't sound quite as much fun when he overhears them talking about alerting social services.

It's hysterical Angela's red letter day

It's Angela's (Kathryn Hunt) big moment when the note is finally delivered, and she makes a show of opening it on the street so her reaction can be witnessed by others. Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) is still not sure she has done the right thing and is horrified when she discovers that Katy (Lucy Jo Hudson) knows about her involvement. Angela is desperate to show the letter to the police and becomes hysterical when they try to reassure her that it is probably a hoax and don't seem keen to put them back on the witness protection programme.

Ray (Neville Buswell) is continuing to wind everyone up, most of all Ken (William Roache). Despite enjoying Ken's discomfort, however, Ray is not keen for Tracy (Kate Ford) to watch him die and announces that he is heading back to Holland as soon as possible. Will he be well enough to travel?

Steve (Simon Gregson) is enjoying spending time with Amy, and he soon finds out just how attractive an eligible bachelor with a baby can be to single women. A badly aimed ball proves very lucky when he scores a direct hit on the very attractive mum of a young toddler.

Fiz (Jennie Mcalpine) is furious when Roy (David Neilson) discovers that Cilla (Wendi Peters) and Les (Bruce Jones) have no plans to return to Weatherfield - they plan to send for Chesney (Sam Aston) when they are settled but Fiz has heard it all before!
